I would like to share my WHY, because it’s important. I decided to focus on the art of boudoir photography for women 40 and over because I feel like they are the forgotten. Society wants us to believe that beauty only exists when we are young, however; working with the women that I’ve been blessed to work with has shown me that beauty exists in all ages, all sizes, all races. I love working with the everyday woman who has given her all to everyone around her because I feel like she is the most deserving of this life changing experience. I want her (you) to see that beauty still lies within and give you an experience that you will love, while creating images that will last a lifetime and beyond.
I can’t tell you how sad it is for me to see the standard type of woman represented in boudoir photography. She’s young, she’s skinny, and she’s not a woman of color. Now, listen, boudoir is for everyone, so I don’t want to take that away from women who look like her, but I feel like there isn’t a wide range of representation of women from all walks of life. She exists in boudoir images because I’ve photographed many women like her. She’s not one age, one size or one ethnicity.
This is why boudoir is so special to me. It’s because I get to work with all women, and show them how beautiful they are, that their time hasn’t past, and that they should have beautiful images of themselves!
